March Favorites & Hate Its

This month I have branched out and tried some new products. Some I absolutely loved and some I cringe at the thought of. I want to share with you what worked for me and what didn´t and why!

Favorites

Sephora Luxe False Lashes in Amour $17

These lashes are the perfect combination of glam and natural. They are on the shorter side, but not too natural. The lashes are extremely soft and feel like natural lashes. Many people often ask me if they are my real lashes or eyelash extensions. The only downside is that they are VERY fragile, so be careful when removing eyelash glue if you would like to reuse them. Most lashes last longer if you do not apply any mascara to the false lashes, I found the opposite to be true for these lashes. Maybe because the lashes are so delicate the mascara holds them together…I don´t know! I can get about 5 uses without applying mascara and about 20 uses if I do apply mascara.

Sephora Luxe Lashes in Quill $17

I love these lashes, they are the same brand as the lashes above just a different style. These are very subtle, they look like my natural lashes (just a little prettier). I love how dainty and cute they are. Perfect for daytime wear! I wear all my lashes with the Duo Brush on Adhesive in Clear. The reason why I love that lash glue is it is extremely easy to apply, and super easy if you need to re-glue an inner corner throughout the course of the day!

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Concealer $28

I ran out of concealer and did not have time to wait for my Tarte Shape Tape to arrive, so I ran into my nearest Sephora and picked out the best concealer I could find! This is a pretty close second to the Shape Tape, the only difference is that the range of colors and undertones are slightly smaller and the coverage is a little more sheer, but for sure build able. The formula is amazing: creamy, smooth, and a flawless finish. I would most definitely go out and buy another tube when I run out. (I wear the shade 1N)

GIORGIO ARMANI Luminous Silk Foundation $64

This is my favorite foundation I have tried…handsdown! The Luminous Silk Foundation is similar to the Clé de Peau Beaute Radiant Foundation, but it is HALF the price and has a better shade selection! This foundation is dewy, it feels like I have nothing on my face, it looks like my skin, and gives me just enough coverage, but not too much! When I say this foundation stayed ALL DAY, it stayed ALL DAY! From 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. (no touch ups). I was both indoors and outdoors. One of my favorites! Now I see why Kim Kardashian raves about it! (Did I mention it smells amazing too!) I wear Shade 3

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer $52

Favorite Primer ever, I sampled it about a year ago and loved it, but never got around to purchasing it. This primer glides on my face like butter, blurring all my lines and pores, smoothing the texture of my skin, and adding a sheen to my face. This primer leaves your skin feeling soft, but not oily (which is surprising because it has ten different oils in it)! My makeup sits amazingly well on top of this primer and it helps my foundation and concealer glide on effortlessly. It smells fabulous too! A win, win.

Marvis Mint Toothpaste $10.50

I have become fed up with my usual Crest toothpaste. I love Marvis´ flavour and the packaging. I think this tube looks much more chic than a poorly designed Crest or Colgate bottle. Who wouldn´t want this sitting on their bathroom sink? I do not know if this toothpaste is ¨all natural¨ and ¨good for you¨ per se, but I do have to say just by the way it tastes it seems like it is made with more real ingredients than your run of the mill drugstore toothpaste. I mostly just buy the toothpaste for the packaging, but hey who doesn´t like a cute tube of toothpaste?

Below I listed a few of the other flavors:

– Whitening Mint   –  Cinnamon  –  Jasmine Mint –  Ginger Mint –

Ben Nye Super White Translucent Face Powder, 3 Oz Shaker Jar

Ben Nye Super White Translucent Powder $18.95

I have had this powder for almost a year and I have just started to use it again. The reason I stopped using this powder in the first place was because it would make my makeup look HIDEOUS! Originally, I tried using this powder to bake. It would look good to start out, but by the end of the day I would look like I dipped my whole face in white chalk. I now use this powder to simply brighten my under eyes,  but do not use this powder to bake. I simply pour a small amount of powder in the cap and take a small brush (such as this one) and apply just the slightest amount of powder. This brightens my under eyes and helps to lock my makeup in place. I had previously thought that this product was just outright horrible, but I realized that I was just applying it wrong!

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer - Ticket to Brazil - image 1 of 2

Wet n Wild Ticket to Brazil Bronzer $3.99

This bronzer is pretty similar to the Benefit Hoola bronzer, the only difference is the price tag and a little extra shimmer. This bronzer is not only insanely inexpensive, but it also has an amazing formula, it stays throughout the day, and it adds a nice sheen to my face. This sits extremely well on top of the Giorgio Armani foundation and keeps me looking radiant and dewy all day long! I absolutely love it and will be trying more Wet n Wild makeup products in the near future.

Main Image - Jo Malone London™ Red Roses Cologne (3.4 oz.)

Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne $135

Everybody already knows my obsession with roses and anything rose scented. This cologne is the epitome of femininity in my mind. This cologne smells like a wonderful field of roses along with a hint of citrus and vanilla. I absolutely love this cologne and I am ready to purchase everything from Jo Malone in this scent.

Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Duo $30

I have had this highlighter for a while and have used it plenty of times, but it looks absolutely beautiful applied on top of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. It is not too overpowering, it is quite subtle when you first apply, but the highlighter becomes more radiant throughout the day.

FRAME Forever Karlie Flare $219

I love, love, love flare jeans. I hate when I when I wear heels with flares and they show (these jeans don´t do that). I picked up a pair of these in New York at SAKS and the instant I slid these puppies on I fell in love. They smooth out and suck in all the right places. They also carry white along with the black.

Hate Its

Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation $64

I am actually puzzled with the fact that this foundation won an award. This is the WORST foundation I have ever tried. It is BEYOND matte, has splotchy coverage, sticks to any dry patches or imperfections. It accentuated every flaw, it did not hide anything or improve the appearance of one single thing. Every other makeup product I put on top of this foundation looked bad too (even though I had used them all many times before). I would not recommend this foundation to my worst enemy. End of story.

YSL All Hours Concealer $34

I purchased shade 1 (Porcelain), their lightest shade. I know I have a fair complexion, but I know for sure I am not the fairest girl in the world. The lightest concealer was too dark for me and it oxidized throughout the day making it even darker. I did not like the formula, coloring, or the coverage. Overall not a great concealer, would not recommend (it wasn´t as bad as the foundation though).

Stila Glitter & Glow Highlighter $30

I by accidentally purchased this product when trying to purchase another Stila product. This would be a pretty highlighter if it was not for the fleck of straight up glitter. This line does feature some unique, iridescent. This may be cool if you are going for a fun glittery look, but for everyday use not for me.
