First, I wash off my day with the Soap & Glory Vitamin C Face wash. This face wash wipes away any makeup, oil, dirt, or anything else that may be present on the surface of your skin. It is crucial to begin your nighttime routine with a fresh, clean face. Vitamin C has antioxidant properties which are great for collagen synthesis – giving your skin the plumpness and that radiant glow. Some studies have shown that Vitamin C may even prevent sun damage and wrinkling/aging. Vitamin C is also great for dry skin! I have been using this face wash for countless years…it never disappoints.
Next, I prep my face with the Avalon Organics Vitamin C Serum. This serum is light and does not leave my face feeling tacky or weighted down. This serum still contains all the Vitamin C benefits listed above. This serum targets aging skin, while brightening, and smoothing all at the same time! After, I have applied the serum all over my face, I use my hands to create small slaps/pats. This not only helps the serum absorb, but also brings blood flow to the face. You do not need to bruise your face with intense slaps, but some slight taps will be beneficial (this should not induce pain, be gentle).
Below I have listed some other great Vitamin C serums on the market.
Now that I have my serum applied, I take a generous amount of the Kiehl´s Midnight Recovery Concentrate in the palm of my hand and apply it all over the surface of my face in circular motions. Gently massage the concentrate into your skin until it is mostly absorbed…it will still be slightly oily, but over the next twenty minutes it will be fully absorbed. I always wake up dewy and refreshed after I use this concentrate. This concentrate has mixture of essential oils and botanicals.
Now that I have focused on my face as a whole, it is time to narrow it down to the eyes. It is always important to use an eye cream and not just any moisturizer; your skin around your eyes is quite sensitive. Applying nightly eye cream prevents those unwanted crows feet…prevention, prevention, prevention. This is the key to aging gracefully.
Last but not least, the lips. Nobody wants cracked, dry lips, so it is always important to keep those puppies moisturized! I never go to bed without salve on my lips, never! You shouldn´t either!
