How to Dress Like a Fashion Blogger

In the mornings we sit on our closet floor in the pile of clothes that just did not work, sometimes it can be so difficult to find just a simple, everyday outfit that looks decent. Fashion bloggers always seem to pair the perfect outfits with the right shoes and jewelry….they make it look so easy. We sit at our computers staring in awe, wondering how we can look that fashion forward with ease. I have come up with some easy to follow, basic rules on mastering the ‘Fashion Blogger’ style.

Master the Basics

It is essential to build your wardrobe off the basics because those simple staples are so versatile. You can wear a funky shirt one day, but if you wear the same shirt three days later it is obvious and repetitive. With basics such as a white tee, jeans, black pumps….you can reuse them again and again, all while creating new and different looks each and every time. That is why it is so vital that you have at least one of each basic in your closets. Below I have listed some great options to start your basics collection!

Learn to Layer

Layers allows one to create a multi-dimensional fashion forward ensemble. Layering is a perfect way to spice up the basics and create a more in depth outfit. When in doubt on layering, just stick to neutrals or have one pop of color layered with a neutral. Layering may appear frightening at first, but just go into your closet and start trying on different clothing items with each other. Don’t stick to the drab jeans and a shirt outfit, spice it up with a coat, scarf and multiple necklaces. Fashion is meant to be fun, so play with it,

One way to create a fashion-forward look is to wear an article of clothing that most would not. Wear something that many might not pair together, or something not very mainstream. One big aspect of fashion is allowing your style to stand out from others. The most important part is picking clothing that you love and feel comfortable in!

The Sweetest Thing

Accessories can really dress up an outfit. If you are wearing a studded bracelet it provides your outfit with an edgier vibe, compared to if you were to wear pink statement earrings that would give your outfit a more feminine aspect. Accessories can really vamp up an outfit or bring a new and different aspect to your ensemble that your clothing does not. You can choose to color coordinate your purse with your blouse, or your shoes with your earrings. The possibilities are endless and accessories really finalize one’s whole outfit.

  1. I love you post! I am a big believer in often times keeping your tops simple and accessorizing! I love a great pair of jeans, simple stilettos, plain top with statement necklace! It says a lot about my personality and its simple to pull off. Great post, I really enjoyed it.
